Kulunut viikko on ollut raskas ja surun täyttämä.
Viikko sitten perjantaina lopetimme pentueen pienimmän uroksen ja siitä alkoi alamäki. Pennut heikkenivät  toinen toisensa jälkeen ja osa vietiin EVIRAan avattavaksi. Saimme hyvin nopeasti alustavat tulokset joka kertoi, että avatuilla pennuilla oli paha bakteeritulehdus  ja tästä johtuva sepsis eli verenmyrkytys. Pentujen ja emän antibioottihoito aloitettiin viikko sitten sunnuntaina. EVIRAn tutkimukset vahvistivat myöhemmin että kyseessä oli kolibakteeri E.coli.
Syytä tulehdukselle voi vain arvailla. Sektio, maidon hidas laskeutuminen, huono tuuri… mutta tulevaan osaamme nyt paremmin valmistautua.
Lääkityistä pennuista suurin osa menehtyi ja nyt meillä on kaksi urosta jotka vaikuttavat terveiltä ja hyvinvoivilta. Ne ovat virkeitä ja hyvin syöviä sekä kasvavat kohisten. Myös emän vointi on ollut koko ajan erinomainen.
Nämä urokset jäävät lähipiiriin ystäville, joten meillä ei ole nyt pentuja myynnissä. Seuraava pentusuunnitelma keväälle 2018.

The pas week has been very heavy and filled with sorrow. A week ago on Friday, we had to
euthanize the smaller male puppy and from the we just went downhill. The puppies weakened
one after another and some we sent to EVIRA for autopsy. We quite fast got the initial results,
the puppies had a severe bacterial infection, which had led to sepsis (blood poisoning). The puppies and our bitch all got antibiotics a week ago on Sunday. It was later confirmed that the bacteria was E.coli.
The reason to the infection we only can guess at. The section, slow maturing of the mother milk, bad luck…but we can now prepare better for the future.
Despite the medication, most of the puppies died and we now have only two males left, that seem to be healthy and growing. They are eating well and growing steadily. Also the mother has been feeling well all throughout the whole ordeal.
These two males are going to our close friends, so unfortunately we do not have any puppies for sale ate the moment. Our next litter is planned for the spring of 2018.
